RALEIGH, N.C. – The

kicked
off tailgate season in style this
week at their Low Country Boil
sponsored by Representative
Bill
Daughtridge.
Over 100 people, including many
Republican elected officials and
three Republican Raleigh City
Council Candidates, were in
attendance for this festive event
held at the West sales center in
downtown Raleigh.
"We are very pleased with the turn
out for the Low Country Boil! We
have really seen an increase in
membership and attendance over the
last year and are very excited to
have more young professionals
getting involved with the group and
the Republican Party" said Dave
Reynolds, Chairman of the Wake Young
Republicans. "We have put a lot of
focus on having fun events and
interesting topics that also educate
our members about candidates and the
GOP. This philosophy is really
starting to pay off and we encourage
everyone to come out and get more
active."
The event was the Young Republican's
summer social and highlighted the
recent National Award the Wake
County Young Republicans received
for Young Republican Event of the
Year. The award was for the
creation of the
GOP Tailgate

Republicans to show their support
for Republican candidates by hosting
Republican-themed tailgate parties
at sporting events and music
concerts from now until February.
The contest will start up again this
weekend and will be expanded
nationwide with a grand prize of
$500 to the top tailgater. The
contest's myspace page
